Black Friday 2026: when it starts at each shop and how to check a discount

Black Friday 2026 starts in Romania on 6 November, the day the eMAG campaign kicks off. There is, however, no single date: each shop chooses its own period, and some began their discounts back in October. Below you will find the table with the dates confirmed so far, each with its source, the calculation for Cyber Monday and a short checklist to go through before placing an order.

When does Black Friday 2026 start at each shop?

eMAG has officially confirmed Friday, 6 November 2026. Flanco and Altex started their campaigns earlier: Flanco on 22 October, Altex on 29 October, according to the press. The table below was updated on 26 October 2026.

The dates for Altex, Flanco, evoMAG and Notino come from the press, not from official announcements by the shops, so check them on their websites too. We update the table when new dates come out.

How much is the Tasi Black Friday discount on each brand?

Between 1 and 30 November 2026, the discount depends on the brand: −25% on Ideal Lux and Maytoni lighting, −20% on Richmond Interiors furniture, −30% on Eichholtz (up to −65% on selected products) and −40% on decor. Christmas decorations and trees are discounted until 15 November.

The discounts are valid from 1 to 30 November; for Christmas decorations, trees and Goodwill decor, until 15 November. The reduced price is shown directly on the product, no code needed. The full list is on the Black Friday page.

How long does Black Friday last?

Black Friday has no fixed length: some shops offer discounts for a day, others for a weekend or several weeks.

That is why "when is Black Friday" has different answers from one shop to another. If you have products from several retailers in mind, note down each one's period. At Tasi Home Studio, the campaign runs all month, from Sunday, 1 November, to Monday, 30 November 2026 inclusive; Christmas decorations and trees are discounted until 15 November.

Black Friday vs Cyber Monday 2026: what is the difference?

In 2026, Black Friday falls on 27 November in the US, and Cyber Monday on 30 November, the Monday immediately after.

Both dates are based on Thanksgiving in the US, which is the fourth Thursday in November. The calculation for 2026:

1. 1 November 2026 is a Sunday, so the Thursdays of the month are the 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th.
2. The fourth Thursday is 26 November: Thanksgiving.
3. The Friday after, 27 November, is Black Friday in the US.
4. The Monday after Thanksgiving, 30 November, is Cyber Monday.

The difference is mostly a matter of tradition: Black Friday began as a day of discounts in physical shops, and Cyber Monday as the day of online discounts. In Romania, the big Black Friday campaigns usually start at the beginning of November, weeks before the American date, so Cyber Monday often comes after many offers have ended.

What is summer Black Friday?

"Summer Black Friday" is a sales campaign run by some retailers outside November, usually in August. In 2026, Altex held such a campaign from 13 to 19 August, according to Gadget.ro (12 August 2026). It has nothing to do with the calendar date; it is just a campaign name.

What does the 30-day rule say?

The rule says that an announced discount must be calculated against the lowest price the shop has charged in at least the 30 days before the discount.

The rule comes from Directive (EU) 2019/2161 (the "Omnibus" Directive), which amended Directive 98/6/EC on price indication. In 2024, the Court of Justice of the European Union clarified that the percentage shown, not just the "previous price", must also refer to this 30-day minimum (CJEU press release No 152/24, case C-330/23, 26 September 2024). The stated aim: to stop shops raising the price before a campaign in order to then display a fake discount.

A hypothetical example: a product cost 900 lei for three weeks, then 1,000 lei for a few days. If it costs 800 lei on Black Friday, the discount is calculated against 900 lei, not 1,000 lei. That means about 11%, not 20%.

How do you check whether a discount is genuine?

A discount is genuine if the final price is below the lowest price of the last month, and that is easy to check if you save prices in advance.

1. Note the price now. Take a dated screenshot for every product you are interested in.
2. Compare the "previous price" with your notes. If it is higher than what you saw in the last 30 days, something does not add up.
3. Work out the percentage yourself. (Previous price − reduced price) ÷ previous price × 100. It should match what the label says.
4. Compare the same product code. For lighting, Ideal Lux and Maytoni use model codes; search for the code, not just the name.
5. Read the "up to". "Discounts of up to 50%" means only some products have the maximum percentage.

If the previous price displayed does not match what you saw, you can file a complaint with the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) in Romania. Keep your screenshots.

What should you check before placing your order?

Before ordering, check the price over the last 30 days, the total cost including delivery and the return conditions.

• The price over the last 30 days: is it higher than the current price? If not, it is not a genuine discount.
• Delivery cost: at Tasi Home Studio, delivery within the European Union costs €30 per order, whatever the order value.
• Delivery time: 5–10 working days for in-stock products; for Eichholtz, Maytoni and made-to-order products, the lead time is confirmed when we confirm your order. This matters especially for furniture and Christmas decor.
• Returns: 14 days; the customer pays for return shipping (returns policy). For large pieces, bear this cost in mind.
• Measurements: the chandelier diameter, the pendant drop, the bulb type, the furniture dimensions relative to the space.

It is worth putting the big pieces on your list, the ones that need measurements and time to think: chandeliers, furniture and Christmas decor.

A sofa, a table or a large mirror should not be chosen on the first day of the sale. Measure the space now and shortlist your options.
