How to layer light in the bedroom. General light comes from a ceiling light or a medium-sized chandelier that doesn't hang too low over the bed. For reading, a swing-arm wall light or a lamp on each bedside table is more practical than the chandelier. Choose a warm colour temperature (2700–3000 K) and, where possible, a dimmable model.
