The Hibis Wall Light from The Met x Eichholtz collection pays homage to an early example of a composite capital—the decorative part at the top of a column in the Temple of Amun at Hibis. The glass elements of this reinterpretation reflect the vertical rhythm and botanical ornamentation of the original piece, which combines elaborate papyrus and palm leaf motifs.
