The Elisha Armchair was inspired by the elaborate drawings of an armchair and a side chair, created by an anonymous British artist [AB11.1][BE11.2][MB11.3], now in The Met collection. The drawings offer a rare insight into the practical craftsmanship of Georgian carpentry. Annotated with precise measurements and tufted upholstery details, they reflect the meticulous planning that lay at the foundation of the most elegant 18th-century interiors.
