The Met x Eichholtz presents the Hathor table lamp, inspired by ancient Egyptian art.
Inspired by a relief from the Middle Kingdom (c. 2061–2010 BCE) depicting King Nebhepetre Mentuhotep II and the goddess Hathor, our lamp features a stoneware body, a black granite base, and a hand-crafted linen-blend shade made in the Lower Countries. Its history-inspired charm and refined design bring a touch of timeless elegance to any space.INSPIRATION
Inspired by the art of ancient Egypt, the Hathor table lamp evokes a relief from the Middle Kingdom (c. 2061–2010 BCE) that once decorated the mortuary temple and tomb of King Nebhepetre Mentuhotep II at Deir el-Bahri, in Thebes in Upper Egypt. Our contemporary reinterpretation of the original relief, now in the Met collection, celebrates the timeless elegance of Egyptian craftsmanship.
