INSPIRATION

The Edgar Side Table was inspired by a coffee table from the Met collection, created by Philadelphia craftsman Anthony G. Quervelle (French, 1789–1856). Born in Paris, Quervelle was a distinguished creator of Empire furniture, a design movement that originated in France during the reign of Napoleon I. This coffee table, made around 1830, is among the rare documented works from the master's prolific production.
