The Lioness coffee table takes its design cue from a French tripod table in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s collection in New York. Made of wood and gilded bronze and featuring a mosaic top, the table dates from around 1815–25 and has ornate legs shaped like winged lions, adorned with flora and fauna. The top depicts a quartet of birds bathing in a golden bowl and features a fretwork ornament. The Lioness coffee table adopts the silhouette of the museum table, with tripod legs in a bronze finish and the elegant simplicity of a clear glass top.
