Description
Discover the charm of the “Moon Jar Vase,” a timeless tribute to late Joseon-period porcelain.
This masterpiece captures the essence of its historical inspiration with a sand-toned finish. True to tradition, it is created by perfectly joining two hemispheres. The subtle glaze, with its peach hues—a beautiful accident of the firing process—enhances its charm. Elevate the elegance of your space with this refined tribute to Korean art and history, transforming it into a centerpiece of elegance and heritage.INSPIRATION
The Moon Jar Vase is inspired by an 18th-century Korean porcelain moon jar—named for its gently curved shape and milky-white color—in the collection of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Moon jars, popular during the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1910) in the 18th and 19th centuries, were typically made from two halves and then joined by hand. The moon jar that inspired this vase acquired a light peach hue in some areas as a result of the firing process. These imperfections evoke the beauty of nature. The Moon Jar Vase has a serene finish in sand tones.
